New Melle Vikings is a collaboration between the Viking Elite Sports Academy and New Melle Sports and Recreation. Our program prioritizes community engagement and offers access to an indoor training facility and training from collegiate-level athletes and experienced coaches. We strive to create a unique experience for players, coaches, and families.
Players can choose from various development pathways from entry-level to club, allowing them to improve their skills without traditional club mandates. We provide coaching clinics and workshops for our coaches, fostering strong development opportunities. With many of our athletes successfully transitioning to high school teams, we’re dedicated to cultivating a supportive community and offering clear paths for growth across all age brackets. We are equipped with our own fields and indoor facility and welcome players from around the region to join our program. Our coaches are parent volunteers, some with many years of experience. All coaches are background checked, and SafeSport certified.

The winter session is held from January to March at the indoor Activity Center in New Melle. The winter session is available ONLY for players who will be playing on a New Melle team in the spring. You must sign up for the spring session to attend winter. We do this to prevent players of other teams from taking spots from our New Melle players. Of course, we always welcome players from surrounding teams who want to join a New Melle team! The indoor winter sessions are held on Monday nights (girls) and Tuesday nights (boys) for ages 7-14 years old. Attendees will practice fielding, catching, hitting, pitching, etc.
